January update

Wow, is it really almost Mid-January already?  Holy moly!

Well, things have been pretty busy for all of us.  We officially started our 2011 Ironman training on 1/1. We are getting prepared for a trip back to Ohio to join the team for a few days of suffering and a chance to see our friends back home.  The HPRTX team continues to grow and we are looking for great things from those that joined the team.  Our new HPRTX teammates are going to be a lot of fun.  We also have a great group of sponsors helping our Texas program gain momentum.  So, let's take a minute to thank Castle Hill Fitness and Cycles, Nuun, DZ Nuts, and our friends at Newton Running.  We will be announcing some new partnerships in the near future.  We also want to thank the sponsors that keep things humming for our Ohio and Canadian teams!

We have an Human Powered Racing Texas triathlon open house at Castle Hill Fitness scheduled for Jan 22, 2011 at 11am.  This event is open to everyone who is interested in learning more about triathlon, HPRTX, and our partners at Castle Hill.  We are looking forward to a great turn out and maybe adding a couple of new members to the team.

Finally, on a personal note, I was recently recognized with a pretty cool honor.  I was featured in the Jan 2011 issue of Austin Fit Magazine as part of their "Best of" feature.  I was voted the 2nd Best Triathlete in Austin.  I can't thank all of you that voted for me enough.  The last 16 months have been amazing and life changing, so it's pretty amazing to be recognized for the effort.  I will keep pushing forward towards my personal goals and doing my best to help guide my teammates towards their goals.  Thank you all so much.

Well, time to head out for a run.  We will check in from Ohio.

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to my little corner of the internets.  This little slice of heaven I refer to as "my blog" will be the place where I entertain those who are brave enough to read my musings.  We will hit on such topics as my cooking skills (rapidly improving), my triathlon training (I see suffering in my future), and the silly and/or dumb things I do and/or encounter along the path called life.  So, sit back, enjoy the ride, and behold the wonders that are told here.
